What TV series, book, or movie has helped you create community?

The most important thing in creating a community is to have a common interest to talk about. That's why I get excited about movies, books and TV series. To me, it's their comments, and to many of them, it's their income. Community is something that we all want, but we don't know how to get it. So, be a part of what you believe in, and talk about it. And you will feel great to have a community - a place you can always turn to, to share and to have a good time. Find out what your community is interested in, and you will have a large fan base. That's why the entertainment industry is so profitable; it has always been a huge part of the community.

Friends are the most meaningful ones I can think of. Friends have influenced me to a great extent in terms of making me realize the importance of having a group of good friends who can help you smooth out your rough edges and make you a better person & create community. Friends are the kind of show which makes you want to be friends with the characters. You like them, and you would love to hang out with such people just like them.

Friends are a great influence on me. Though I am not living in the city, I dream of living there.

We follow books, websites, and individuals on Twitter. We read and learn from blogs. These blogs help us create a community of entrepreneurs. We also watch movies for inspiration.

Tom Szaky of Terra Cycle was probably the first one to tell us about the importance of community. He said that a good product connects with customers by creating a community and helping them to solve a common problem. There is a great story about the co-founders of Airbnb who learned the importance of community from the Y Combinator. When they missed the deadline for a project and were thinking of writing an apology email to the investors, Paul Graham gave them a call and asked them to change their course of action. He suggested that if they build a community, they would connect with a lot of people, and if the deadline was missed due to a good reason, then people would be happy to hear that the co-founders are working hard on the project. Paul Graham said that “A good product is only seen as a good product if there is a community talking about it.”

If you want to create community, you must have a brand, which means a clear vision and a compelling story. Then you must collaboratively build your community so that they can make their ideas valuable. Take the music industry. The record companies of the past would create a singles market. They would find an artist, create a piece of music, manufacture a CD, make a single, release it and then send it to radio stations for airplay. They did not care about how listeners would react to music or whether they would buy it. In 1998, the music industry was taken over by iTunes, which enabled listeners to choose the songs they wanted, the way they wanted, and to download them on the web. Now, the record companies were forced to react to the trend and create their online community , which is currently facing a wave of innovation from Spotify. The future of the community will be a combination of social networks and music, movies and television, video games and blogs and the combination of these different brands.

The other movie I watched and loved the most, which helped me create community, is "The Shawshank Redemption"

. The movie is about friendship, hope and freedom. I watched it two times and still watch it when I need to be inspired. It has a positive message, which even prisoners can understand who is locked in jail for a long period. I try to embrace the message of "The Shawshank Redemption" in my life and apply the same in my way to create a community.

I have been following a book called “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill

. This book helps you set goals and teaches you how to explore how movies, books, and TV shows create communities. Learn tips to build connections, inspire others, and grow your fan base.. It also helps you create a community. For example, when I am trying to get a job at a new company, I ask my mentors to meet me in the morning, and we go through the book together. I have been rereading this book every year for about 8 years, and these habits have created a nice community for me. I try to embrace the message of The Shawshank Redemption in my life and apply the same in my way to create community.

If you want to connect with people who are craving community, it’s really important to listen to the concerns of others, understand their needs, and try to meet them. I like to use the First Five techniques. It’s very simple yet powerful. I just ask people to tell me the first five words that come to their minds when they think about me or my business. What they say gives me a huge insight into how I could connect better with that person and what I can do to support them to create community
